I recently came upon an article on chinese gymnasts, which further shows the ignorance of some people.
So this lady thinks chinese gymnasts are underage and are an advantage to the competition because"age has a lot to do with what's level in gymnastic competitions. There is a mental advantage for youngsters who are clueless about pressure, unaware of what wobbles the burden to win can create".
What? Are you kidding me? You think chinese do not know about pressure? We are raised and taught under pressure since the day we were born. The word "pressure" is engraved in our brains, is running in our blood and through our veins.
The real harassment that got me was this ,"just take a peek at the big lugs who stood next to the Chinese team. The U.S. squad is filled with women who are short to be sure, but with a curve to their bodies, muscle on their bones and driver's licenses in their wallets".
Is it our fault that we have no boobs? Why mock our lack of boobs and asses? This is utterly unacceptable to me.

Breast development does not determine age. The age spoofs were found on a Chinese government website and were taken down hours after discovery.
and now you are also talking about a webpage that doesn't exist anymore. since when do western media take chinese government's words as evidence? is it simply because it supports the whole "underage" argument? the passports of these gymnasts were issued by the chinese government, too, and they were confirmed by FIG.

the age stated in the webpages provided by the anonymous poster above was not accurate, because there's another female gymnast in china whose name is also He Kexin. note in the huffingtonpost article, one of those so called exhibits showed that this He Kexin is from the Wuhan (a city in the province of Hubei) Team. but He Kexin who competed in the olympics is from Beijing. the media got the ages all mixed up because these two girls had the same names.
i rather trust FIG and the IOC having more expertise in this matter than some random reporter with spelling errors in his article. oh, and there are also mistakes in his translations of the chinese webpages too. "The Wuhan Team's 13 year old He Kexin faced off against the National Team's Yang Yilin in women's parallel bars. [...]" Women don't compete in parallel bars, you know that? people are so easily fooled.
believe me, if there was indeed any foul play, team america would've filed an appeal first thing after they lost.
talking about evidence in chinese, you can also find this documentary called 《筑梦2008》 (Dream Weaver 2008), which was released in june, 2008, in china. this film has extensive footages of the girls in the chinese gymnastics team. you can see what these girls were like from the time they were chosen (when they were around 9 to 10 years old in 2001) for the national team and also when they were 13, 14 and older. He Kexin entered 北京东城区少儿体校幼儿班 (Beijing dongcheng district sports school for youths) in 1997 when she was 5.
anyway, if any of these "evidence" found on the internet was true, i'm sure it would have been used by the american gymnastic team and the united states olympic committee to their advantage.
